SOLD - 1988 Jose Canseco #302

$12.15

PSA 9: #71873583 - Mint

Jose Canseco was considered a promising young baseball player due to a combination of his exceptional physical abilities, raw talent, and early successes in his career. He possessed incredible power, which was one of his most notable attributes. He had a rare combination of strength and bat speed that allowed him to hit for both power and average. His ability to consistently drive the ball out of the ballpark made him a feared hitter. Despite his imposing size, Canseco was remarkably agile and had impressive speed for a player of his stature. He was a threat on the base paths, known for stealing bases and being an aggressive base-runner. He burst onto the scene in 1986 as a member of the Oakland Athletics and was named the American League Rookie of the Year. He showcased his power-hitting ability by hitting 33 home runs and driving in 117 RBIs in his rookie campaign. Canseco's promise was further solidified when he won the American League Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in 1988. That year, he became the first player in MLB history to hit 40 home runs and steal 40 bases in a single season.
