SOLD - 1970 Paul Warfield #135

$0.00

SGC 5: #1472697 - Excellent

Paul Warfield became a member of the Miami Dolphins through a trade with the Cleveland Browns. The trade took place in 1970 and involved the Dolphins sending a first-round draft pick and a future draft pick to the Browns. At the time of the trade, Warfield was already established as one of the premier wide receivers in the NFL. He had spent the first six seasons of his career with the Cleveland Browns, where he was known for his exceptional speed, precise route-running, and ability to make big plays downfield.

The Dolphins, led by head coach Don Shula, were in the midst of building a competitive team. They saw Warfield as a valuable addition to their offense, providing a deep threat and playmaking ability to complement their strong running game and solid defense. Warfield's arrival in Miami proved to be a significant boost for the Dolphins. In his first season with the team, he played a key role in their march to the Super Bowl, where they fell short against the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl VI. However, the following year, Warfield and the Dolphins returned to the Super Bowl and emerged victorious, capturing the franchise's first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl VII.
